SAM CILA

A true team player in every sense, Sam believes that teamwork is synonymous with completing a goal successfully. Born in Riverhead, NY, Sam went on to gain valuable experience at the Smith Point Ocean Rescue Team, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department of Corrections, and the United States Army. As a member of the infantry unit, Sam was decorated with an Army Commendation for "distinguishing oneself by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service" and ultimately received a Purple Heart. Sam doesn't let his past injuries stop him from his prized hobbies of cycling or training for triathlons. In October of 2010, Sam was followed by an NBC Sports crew during the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
