The Agoge

Summer Leadership Academy

The Program believes in leadership development, personal development and team building through shared adversity. The Program staff is that adversity and The AGOGE is where you will be challenged physically and mentally over the course of 4 days to ultimately become “that much better”.

The AGOGE 300: The Program’s Summer Leadership Academy; The AGOGE is a 4 day, 3 night camp that will first teach athletes and teams the principles of teamwork and leadership and then provide them with an opportunity to prove what they have learned.

Classroom Training: The AGOGE staff will present and lead individual and group discussions on various leadership and team dynamic topics drawing from The Program's ethos and Core Principles and their own personal experiences as collegiate and professional athletes/ coaches as well as members of elite military special operations units. A variety of these included coaches are to be hand selected from various established institutions across the country.

Who: Male and Female student athletes from High School and Collegiate teams.

When: Males: 06/18/2011 - 06/21/2011. Females: 06/21/2011-06/24/2011.

Where: New Hampton School, New Hampton, NH.

Cost: $1000/ student (includes room and board).

Why: Today's student athlete has been reared to be bigger, faster and stronger athletes than those of 10 and 20 years ago. As a result, leadership development and team building has decreased over this same timeframe. A great team leader and a committed teammate is more than being the biggest, fastest and strongest athlete.

Experiential Leadership Training: Each athlete will register as a member of a team or be assigned to one. During their four days at The AGOGE, each athlete will have numerous opportunities to lead a team in an experiential leadership training exercise.

Leadership Assessment: Each athlete will receive immediate feedback on their performance as well as a final evaluation of their leadership and teamwork ability.
